Like with any product that has many variants there is an ocean of information that you have to navigate to find the answers.

It is sometimes quite hard to understand what a product is made out of and there is quite a lot of smoke and mirrors in the packaging space.

Right from the get-go we wanted to focus on the most environmentally friendly packaging possible.

This had to be balanced with our branding and the main purpose of a coffee bag; keeping the coffee fresh. 

We are sent coffee from roasters to review so we have a fairly good insight into what many independent coffee roasters are using to package their coffee and after many trials with many coffee bags we opted for a compostable bag made out of organic materials. 

We believe that there is too much plastic in the world and although there are many recycled and recyclable plastic options, we decided we’d prefer to stay clear. 

Our cardboard postal boxes are made from single wall cardboard that is also compostable and made out of organic material.

At Batch, we are constantly trying to look for ways to make the business more sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible from the delivery of our boxes through to the stickers we use to print our postage labels.

Any feedback is always taken on board and we welcome any suggestions that you may have about how can have less of an impact on our planet.
