They follow the guidelines set out by “The Pledge” in order to give assurance as to their transparency commitment.

Roast Ghost believe that with absolutely no compromise, the producer must be paid above the cost of production.

They only purchase coffee if producers have been paid a minimum of 50% above Fairtrade price.

Their focus on sustainability transcends all the way through to the roastery where their operations are powered by 100% renewable energy.

The carbon neutral bags alongside all the way down to the home compostable stickers give you a clue as to how serious these guys are taking the environmental problem of coffee.

Roast Ghost Details

O’Coffee is a great example of large scale estate farming in Brazil done on a specialty level with sustainable practices.

The coffee from this farm is both Rainforest Alliance and UTZ certified.

O'coffee farm

The Brazilian coffee industry today is around 3.5 million people strong and has around 220,000 coffee farms of various sizes.

While you can find many small holder farms in Brazil, the country was the first and still leads the way in industrialised coffee production.

What to Expect

The honey processing leaves a large amount of mucilage on the coffee which gives a really syrupy body and high sweetness.

Take the flavours that Brazilian coffee is known for, smooth them out and pump them up. Creamy white chocolate flavours sit comfortably alongside red apple and it finishes with a lingering caramel biscuit note.
