19 Grams Coffee Roasters Review

19 Grams Coffee Roasters are based in Berlin, Germany.

One of their main aims is to help their customers enjoy and understand specialty coffee.

It all started in 2002 in Friedrichshain and under the name Tres Cabezas.

Back then specialty coffee was just emerging and the team had a few issues with how coffee was served and consumed in cafes, bars and restaurants.

They were not convinced on the quality but also the trade, production and processing and this was the foundations of what 19 Grams wanted to change.

19 Grams have coffee partners around the world who provide them with the product we all love so much.

19 Grams Coffee Roasters team

The enthusiasm for specialty coffee is growing, as well as the search volume on Google and above all the awareness that coffee can be so much more than a cheap bag from the supermarket.

19 Grams pay attention to the producers, they travel to the farmers, they speak, understand and discuss, they strive for real sustainability in production and they make incredibly good coffee.

The Origin

The Simbi Natural coffee from 19 Grams Coffee Roasters comes from the Huye region in Rwanda, Africa.

The team at 19grams have known the Simbi Washing Station for many years: The Washing Station Simbi was founded in 2013 by Abdul Rudahunga.

It enables farmers in the Huye region to prepare their coffee.

Almost 1,500 micro-farms deliver their coffee to the Simbi Station, which employs around 80 people during the main harvest season.

There is space for 300 tons of coffee cherries, which are processed using different methods. From fully-washed beans to sun-dried natural coffee cherries, anything is possible.

Thanks to its experimental and at the same time careful processing, the Simbi Station produces excellent quality.
